FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is aging in place?

Aging in place means staying in your own home safely and comfortably as you get older, rather than moving to a care facility. With the right products and modifications, most people can remain independent well into their 80s and beyond.

What kinds of products does Home Roost carry?

We feature grab bars, shower seats, walk-in tubs, stairlifts, wheelchair ramps, bed rails, door wideners, non-slip mats, medical alert systems, and smart home devices designed for seniors.

Are these products covered by Medicare or insurance?

Some durable medical equipment (DME) prescribed by a physician may qualify for Medicare or insurance reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance provider or an occupational therapist for guidance.

Do I need a professional to install these products?

Many products are DIY-friendly, but grab bars, stairlifts, and walk-in tubs benefit from professional installation. We will be launching a managed installation service in select US cities soon.

How do I know which products are right for me?

Our buying guides and articles help you assess your specific needs. For personalized recommendations, consider booking a home safety consultation with a certified aging-in-place specialist (CAPS).
